Subscription Pause

Subscription Pause allows to temporarily suspend a chosen subscription service by both clients and vendors.

Enabling Subscription Pause

To make pausing subscriptions possible, you need to either create a new subscription service by going to Services and selecting the "Create service" button or by selecting the service you want to edit.

On the new page, make sure that the Subscription box is selected (to learn more about creating subscriptions, read this article).

There, in the General tab, scroll down to the Packages section. You'll find there several options that can be toggled, one of them being Enable pausing subscription. Toggle it to make it possible for you, the vendor, to pause subscriptions on behalf of your clients.

Toggling the button will prompt a new field box to appear, Enabling pausing for clients. By ticking it, you'll make it possible for clients to pause their subscriptions themselves.

You can enable pausing per package, not per the whole subscription. If you have more than one package, you have to repeat the process for each one. To learn more about packages, read this article.

Pausing & Resuming Subscriptions

To pause a subscription:
Go to Subscriptions by selecting the recycle icon in the left sidebar,
On the new page, you'll find a list of all subscriptions. Choose the one you want to pause and select the three vertical dots icon,
A drop-down menu will appear, with the "Pause subscription" being one of the available options. Select it,
Confirm the action in the pop-up window.

That action will result in a new State being assigned to the subcription — Paused — along with the information of how many billable days are left. To learn more about States, read this article.

To resume a subscription:
Go to Subscriptions by selecting the recycle icon in the left sidebar,
On the new page, you'll find a list of all subscriptions. Choose the one you want to resume and select the three vertical dots icon,
A drop-down menu will appear, with the "Resume subscription" being one of the available options. Select it,
Confirm the action in the pop-up window.

Your clients can't pause a subscription that has been resumed on the same day.

Billing Cycle

Pausing subscriptions affects the billing cycle by switching the irregular time periods to regular ones, so that your clients will be billed on a 30/90/365 basis and not on a monthly/quarterly/yearly basis.

In other words:

Weekly billing stays at 7 days,
Monthly billing becomes 30 days,
Quarterly billing becomes 90 days,
Annual billing becomes 365 days.

The changes to the billing cycle affect only the chosen package.

Billed Days

The day when you pause the subscription still counts as a billed day — therefore, the client will pay for it. In the same vein, a day of unpausing counts as a billed day as well. That’s why it’s best to pause in the evening and unpause in the morning.

The time is always in accordance with the local time set up in the specific Workspace’s settings.
